Autumn Allotment Plots in Mist on Shimla Ridge

Thick, pale mist blankets the undulating terrain of a wind-cut ridge below prayer flag lines near Shimla. Deep shadows dominate the valley floor where allotment plots form a rhythmic patchwork of earth and dormant crops. First light strikes the highest edges, casting sharp rim light along the ridge crests and illuminating the wet, dark soil of the terraced beds. The autumn season is evident in the muted browns and fading greens of the vegetation. Thin vertical lines of prayer flags hang motionless above the plots, their colors barely visible through the fog. The geometric arrangement of the garden beds creates a visual rhythm against the soft, diffuse light of dawn. A faint reflection of the sky glimmers on the damp surface of a central soil patch.
