Dawn Light Over Snowy Mountain Pass Near Leh

Cold silver dawn light spills across a jagged mountain pass, illuminating a stone cairn that stands defiantly against the wind. The summit sits above the tree line, where late spring snow clings to rocky slopes in thick, uneven patches. Wisps of white vapor whip horizontally through the air, blurring the sharp edges of distant ridges. The ground beneath the cairn is a mix of coarse gravel and compacted ice, while the sky fades from pale blue to a soft, glowing gray at the horizon. One prayer flag, frayed and stiff, snaps violently against the stone structure, its vibrant colors muted by the early morning chill. The wind carves small drifts around the base of the rocks, creating a textured landscape of shifting powder and exposed earth.
