Paper Maker Dipping Screen in Rehovot Studio

Neon light bounces off the wet pulp and the aluminum screen frame as a paper maker lowers the mesh into the vat. The over-the-shoulder view reveals the texture of the fibrous slurry clinging to the screen wires. Cool blue evening shadows stretch across the clean white floor of the rehearsal room. The subject wears a dark apron that contrasts sharply with the bright, sterile surfaces of the workspace. Early spring air is not felt, but the crispness of the light suggests the season outside. Water droplets slide down the side of the vat, catching the electric glow of the overhead fixtures. one drop of pulp hangs from the bottom edge of the screen, suspended before falling.
