Bamboo Weaver in Singapore Foundry

Pale walls reflect soft late afternoon light across a polished concrete floor where a weaver bends a flexible bamboo strip. The indoor space mimics a foundry with heavy steel beams overhead and rows of metallic machinery standing idle. Cool season air is suggested by the weaver's long sleeves and the crisp texture of the dried bamboo. Small highlights dance on the smooth metal surfaces of the surrounding equipment, against the organic grain of the weaving material. Negative space frames the figure, showing the solitary rhythm of the work against the industrial backdrop. One reflection of the bent strip glows on the floor near the weaver's hand.
