Papermaker Pressing Pulp in Bangkok Museum
Dim window light and warm interior lamps illuminate a wooden deckle frame resting on a clean museum plinth. Wet, fibrous pulp fills the rectangular border, its surface glistening with moisture under the soft glow. A papermaker's hands press firmly into the slurry, spreading the fibers evenly across the screen. The water drips slowly from the edges, pooling slightly on the smooth, light-colored surface below. Behind the frame, the faint outline of a window reveals the grey wash of the monsoon evening outside. The wood grain of the deckle contrasts with the pale, wet texture of the pulp, while shadows fall softly across the plinth. one drop of water rests on the corner of the frame before falling.
