Oxidized Copper and Rainwater in Tete Stair Hall

Vibrant teal verdigris covers a curved copper sheet resting beside a shallow pool of rainwater collected on a tiled floor. The water reflects the soft, overcast afternoon light filtering through the stair hall in Tete. Dust particles float in visible shafts of illumination that cut across the symmetrical arrangement of grey tiles. The copper surface shows a rough, pitted texture where oxidation has eaten away the metal, against the smooth, rippled surface of the water. Geometric lines of the grout create a rhythmic grid beneath the organic shapes of the metal and liquid. The scene balances the cool blue-green tones of the corrosion against the neutral grey of the concrete and stone.
