Norwegian Transmission Towers Over Flooded Fields
Steel-blue twilight washes over a canal lock chamber in Norway, where massive transmission towers stride across the landscape. Below, flooded fields mirror the dimming sky, their surfaces broken by scattered puddles on service roads. Snow fences run in parallel lines, their white slats stark against the darkening water and wet earth. A fine mist and spray hang suspended above the concrete structures, softening the edges of the lock walls. The towers cast long, faint shadows that stretch across the saturated ground, underscoring their immense scale. The water reflects the gray tones of the sky, creating a seamless blend between the earth and the air. The concrete edges of the lock appear smooth and cold, resting against the chaotic texture of the flooded vegetation. One puddle near the base reflects the steel lattice.
