Night Cinema in Tehran Hall Under Fluorescent Light

Stark fluorescent tubes illuminate the interior of a ceremonial hall in Tehran during deep night. Light drizzle beads on high windows and slicks the stone floor, creating wet patches that reflect the overhead fixtures in distorted, shimmering lines. Rows of empty chairs face a large, blank projection screen at the far end. Intricate traditional plasterwork on the ceiling stands out in sharp relief against the harsh electric light. Scattered autumn leaves lie trapped near the doorways, pressed flat by the dampness. Water droplets rest on the window frames, blurring the darkness outside while the white light remains constant across the room.
