Mossy Log Under Stars in Nigerian Valley

Starlight washes the rugged bark of an ancient fallen log, revealing thirty distinct moss species clinging to its weathered surface. The log spans a wide valley floor in Nigeria, its massive form dominating the foreground against the deep indigo of the night sky. Faint ground glow illuminates the texture of the moss, highlighting velvety greens and charcoal grays. Wind whips the surrounding grasses, blurring the edges of the vegetation while the heavy wood remains rooted in place. The dry season leaves the ground dusty and sparse, showing the log's geologic permanence. A sharp shadow stretches from the log's edge, marking the low angle of the starlight.
