Monkey Steals Offering Brass Plate Temple Courtyard

Wet stone tiles glisten under a heavy, gray overcast sky in a Nouakchott temple courtyard. A macaque crouches low on the slick surface, its dark fur matted with moisture from the recent rain. The monkey grips a shallow brass plate with one hand, its fingers curled around the rim as it lifts a portion of the offering. Soft, diffused light reflects off the polished metal, creating a bright focal point against the muted, cool tones of the damp masonry. Behind the animal, the straight lines of the stone pavement stretch toward the background, guiding the gaze through the quiet, devotional stillness of the space. The brass rim catches a faint highlight where it meets the wet ground.
