Wet Moon Bridge Hong Kong Temple at Dawn in in a temple courtyard in Hong Kong

Wet Moon Bridge Hong Kong Temple at Dawn

by Melvin Atkinson

Pale dawn light skims across wet granite tiles in a Hong Kong temple courtyard during monsoon season. A curved moon bridge arches over a dark pond, its stone balustrades slick with fresh rain. Sidelight catches the rough texture of the stone and the sheen on dark green leaves of nearby shrubs. Layers of depth recede from the foreground bridge into a misty background where humid air rests above the water. Water droplets hang from the edges of the stone railing, and a fallen leaf creates a small ripple on the pond's surface.
