Lotus Bloom Beside Greenhouse Window Wet Season
by Ana Cruz
Bright midmorning light falls through overhead leaves, casting dappled patterns across a single lotus bloom resting near a greenhouse pane. The flower's pink petals glisten with fine droplets of sea spray suspended in the humid air. Behind the translucent glass, a deep, dark void contrasts sharply with the illuminated stamen cluster. Tiny water beads rest on the waxy green leaves, reflecting the soft noon brightness. The greenhouse structure frames the right side of the view, its metal edge catching a glint of sunlight. The wet season atmosphere hangs heavy in the moisture coating every surface, at the base of the vibrant plant life in the specific coastal air of San Cristóbal. A sharp shadow falls across the lower petal, defining its curved edge against the dark background.
