Serengeti Power Station Turbine Hall Moss in in the Serengeti

Serengeti Power Station Turbine Hall Moss

by Skylar Sloan

Golden hour light falls through rain-streaked windows into a vast turbine hall where the Serengeti has reclaimed every vertical surface. Thick moss and vibrant grass grow horizontally across rusted steel beams, concrete pillars, and the curved ceiling, defying gravity while maintaining sharp, legible texture. The last rays of sunset illuminate floating raindrops that hang suspended in the heavy air, catching the warm amber glow. Dust motes drift lazily through the beams of light, settling on the damp, emerald carpet that covers the industrial floor. One puddle on the concrete reflects the impossible sideways vegetation and the fading orange sky above.
