Croatian Barrier Beach Overwash Fans Dawn Drizzle

Pale gray mist hangs low over a shifting barrier beach where sandy overwash fans spread across the dune slope. Fine rain falls steadily, turning the pale beige sand into a darker, saturated earth tone. Layers of dune ridges recede into the distance, their soft contours blurred by the damp air. Sparse, wind-swept marram grass clumps stand stiff and brown against the wet sand, their blades bent in the same direction. The horizon line dissolves into a uniform sheet of light gray sky, merging seamlessly with the wet beach. Water trickles down the face of the nearest overwash fan, carving shallow, glistening channels that reflect the dull daylight. One stone rests half-buried in the foreground, its surface slick with moisture.
