Ikebana in Gion Temple Alcove Twilight

Deep indigo twilight washes the stone courtyard of a Gion temple, settling over wet pavement that reflects the dim ambient glow. A wooden tokonoma alcove frames a minimalist ikebana arrangement, its bare branches and a single dried leaf stark against the dark interior. Rain has left surfaces slick and glistening, showing the rough texture of aged wood and the smooth, dark glaze of the ceramic vase. Humid air hangs heavy in the space, visible only as a soft haze softening the distant temple eaves. The composition uses the alcove's threshold as a frame, drawing focus to the precise geometry of the plant stems. One droplet rests on the rim of the vase, catching the last faint light of the evening.
