Hydrothermal Vent Garden Ocean Ridge Spain Afternoon

Hard coastal glare slices across the rugged basaltic ridges of the Spanish ocean floor, illuminating clusters of tubeworms and microbial mats. Raindrops streak through the water column, creating a shimmering haze that softens the sharp edges of the volcanic rock. The deep blue water contrasts with the rust-colored sediment and pale white chimneys rising from the seabed. Sunlight penetrates the surface layers, casting long, diffuse shadows across the uneven terrain. Tiny particles float in the current, catching the light like suspended dust. The texture of the ancient crust is rough and jagged, while the vent structures appear smooth and mineral-encrusted. A faint reflection of a nearby chimney glimmers on a wet rock face in the foreground.
