Cool blue twilight washes the taped-off excavation edge in Gwalior where a metal material hoist call station stands low to the ground. Two work lamps cast a warm, yellow glow that fights the encroaching drizzle, illuminating raindrops clinging to the red plastic buttons and the grease-stained casing. Safety tape in bright yellow and black marks the perimeter of the dug-out pit, framing the station against the darkening earth. Fatigue settles on the worn paint of the box, while the wet sheen on the metal suggests recent, heavy use. one drop of water rolls down the side of the call button, tracing a path through the grime before falling into the shadowed soil below.
