Green Fog Terraced Villages Newfoundland Hillside
Pale green mist rests on the steep slopes of a Newfoundland hillside, softening the edges of scattered stone houses. The village terraces step down toward a gray water surface that reflects the heavy overcast sky. Early spring light remains flat and diffuse, turning the slate roofs and damp earth into muted shades of charcoal and olive. Thin patches of lingering snow mark the higher ridges, against the emerging brown of dormant grass. The settlement clusters tightly along the ridgeline, following the natural contours of the land. A narrow dirt path winds between the structures, disappearing into the low-hanging cloud layer. The water below mirrors the sky's uniform gray, creating a seamless horizon where the land meets the sea. A weathered wooden fence post stands in the foreground, its wood grain wet and dark against the pale fog.
