Golden Hour Sunflowers in Wyoming Meadow

by Iris Hewitt

Copper-toned light spills across a sprawling meadow where tall sunflowers stand in loose rows. Their heavy, textured heads tilt sharply toward the fading sun, facing east while the western sky glows amber. The flower centers show deep brown and orange hues, against the stiff, fuzzy green stems that rise from dry, earthy soil. Fine sea spray hangs in the air, catching the low light and adding a hazy, shimmering veil over the distant horizon. The ground is a mix of cracked dirt and sparse, drying grasses, showing the turn of seasons. One petal edge glows translucent against the darkening background.
