Sunflowers Facing Dawn Light Fern Forest

Horizontal rays of pale dawn light cut across a forest floor near Valledupar, illuminating yellow sunflower heads that turn toward the source. Thick green stems rise from dark, damp earth to support heavy petals against a backdrop of dense, curling fern fronds. The rainy season leaves a wet sheen on the broad leaves, while the flower centers display rough textures under the soft morning glow. Shadows stretch long across the ground where ferns grow beside the sunflowers. one drop of water rests on the tip of a fern frond at the edge of the frame, catching the pale sky.
