Sunflower Lavender Fields Above Salt Ponds
by Ruby Fisher
Golden rays of sunrise illuminate a vast patchwork of yellow sunflowers and purple lavender stretching across the landscape. Low morning fog hovers just above the crops, softening the edges where the fields meet the pale gray salt ponds below. White causeways cut straight lines through the water, creating geometric divisions against the organic textures of the blooming plants. The light casts long, soft shadows that define the height of the sunflower stalks and the dense clusters of lavender. From this elevated perspective, the colors appear as distinct blocks of saturated yellow and violet, separated by the muted tones of the wet earth and water. The scene reveals the intricate pattern of agricultural rows and the natural contours of the salt pans under the rising sun. A thin line of mist rests on the surface of the nearest salt pond, reflecting the pale blue sky.
