Copper light over Austrian floodplain wildflowers

Copper-toned light spills across a wide floodplain in Austria, illuminating a dense patch of summer wildflowers despite the early winter season. The horizon glows with a low, wrapping warmth that defines the edges of grasses and blooms against a perfectly clear sky. Textures range from the soft, velvety heads of the flowers to the rough, wind-carved earth beneath them. Shadows stretch long and sharp, showing the solitude of the landscape. The composition places the vibrant cluster of plants in the lower right third, balancing the expansive, empty sky above. One blade of bent grass rests against a fallen stone, catching the last reflection of the fading sun.
