Gila Monster on Sandstone Ledge in Tunisia

Hard coastal glare cuts across a weathered sandstone ledge where a Gila monster rests. The reptile's black and pink beaded scales catch the intense late afternoon light, creating a sharp contrast against the rough, eroded rock surface. Dry, brittle grasses whip horizontally across the frame, driven by a strong wind that blurs the background vegetation. The creature sits low and still, its heavy body anchored to the stone. Dust particles swirl in the air, visible as faint streaks in the bright light. The animal occupies the left third of the view, leaving the right side open to the arid, wind-swept landscape. A dark shadow falls sharply beneath the creature's belly, defining its weight against the stone.
