Galapagos Iguana Eating Cactus Near Jakarta Tidal Inlet
Bright late afternoon light cuts through a thin layer of fog hovering over the muddy banks of a tidal inlet. A Galápagos land iguana, its scales a textured mix of ochre and grey, sits firmly on wet earth beside the water. The reptile holds a thick green cactus pad with its front claws, its mouth open as it bites into the succulent flesh. Rain-soaked vegetation clumps around the animal's feet, and the water reflects the pale sky above.
