Steel-blue ambient light washes a rugged sandstone ledge where a Gila monster rests. The reptile's thick, beaded skin displays distinct black and pink-orange patterns against the warm, reddish-brown rock. Behind the creature, the sky transitions from deep indigo to a faint horizon glow, revealing a perfectly clear expanse with no clouds. The dry season leaves the ground bare and dusty, showing the texture of the stone and the animal's scales. Shadows stretch long across the uneven surface, defining the contours of the ledge. The creature remains motionless, its head slightly raised against the cooling air. A sharp shadow falls along the base of the rock face, marking the edge of the frame.
