Pale morning light floods the humid aisle of a Victorian cast-iron greenhouse near Kotri, reflecting softly off the whitewashed walls. Frost crystals coat the upper panes of the arched iron frames, against the warm late-summer air that fills the lower space. Condensation beads along the lower glass sections, blurring the view of rows of crops stretching into the distance. The intricate black ironwork supports the heavy glazing, creating a rhythmic pattern that recedes deep into the structure. Dust motes hang suspended in the shafts of sunlight, illuminating the texture of the frost and the damp sheen on the metal joints. one drop of water rests on the edge of a lower pane, ready to fall.
