Falconer Releasing Hawk from Gauntlet on Castilian Moor

Bright afternoon light floods the edge of a reed bed in Castile, illuminating a falconer in traditional leather gear. The bird, a sharp-eyed hawk with mottled brown and white plumage, pushes off the thick leather gauntlet, wings spread wide in a powerful arc. Low-hanging grey clouds press against the horizon, against the golden-green grasses of the moor. The background dissolves into soft focus, blurring the distant reeds and keeping attention on the bird's sharp talons and the textured leather of the glove. One feather drifts downward near the hawk's tail, caught in the still air before the bird takes flight.
