Falconry Master Goshawk New York Golden Hour
by Lilly Carey
Early autumn light falls through dust motes and sheer fabric, casting a warm, amber glow across the weathered face of a falconry master. The subject stands in the narrow streets of New York's old quarter, surrounded by brick facades softened by the clearing storm. Intense, dark eyes lock forward with a piercing focus, reflecting the low sun. A goshawk rests on the thick leather glove, its mottled brown and grey feathers ruffled by the damp air. The bird's yellow cere contrasts sharply against the worn texture of the glove. Shadows stretch long across the cobblestones, highlighting the deep lines on the master's cheeks and the intricate stitching of the protective gear. A final beam of light catches the sharp curve of the hawk's beak.
