Dung Beetle Rolling Sphere Near Bangkok Reed Bed
Tropical morning light floods the edge of a reed bed near Bang Rak, where a single dung beetle pushes a perfectly round sphere of dung across damp earth. Fine mist hangs low, softening the background reeds into blurred vertical lines of green and brown. The beetle's black, glossy exoskeleton reflects the bright sky, against the matte, textured surface of the sphere it maneuvers. Shallow depth of field isolates the insect and its load, leaving the surrounding vegetation as a wash of color. The ground shows scattered moisture and small debris, hinting at recent monsoon rains. A sharp shadow falls beneath the beetle, anchoring its position on the muddy bank.
