One spherical droplet rests on the fine silk thread of a spider web, stretching the fiber into a perfect arc. The water shows a distorted, inverted reflection of the gray, overcast sky above. Behind the translucent sphere, blurred vertical stalks of dry reeds stand in muted browns and tans, indicating the season's aridity despite the steady rain falling in the background. The light is soft and diffused, eliminating harsh shadows while highlighting the wet sheen on the silk. Tiny water beads coat the surrounding threads, creating a chain of miniature lenses. The droplet sits near the right edge of the frame, balancing the weight of the reed bed on the left. A faint ripple distorts the background reeds within the water's curved surface.
