Dead Sea Viaduct Under Starlit Autumn Rain
by Perry Beck
Deep indigo starlight washes the curved viaduct, where brick kilns stand silent against the arid Dead Sea landscape. Heavy autumn rain sheets down, turning the bridge maintenance walkway into a slick, reflective ribbon of dark stone. The structure curves sharply, its converging lines guiding toward a distant vanishing point obscured by the falling water. Faint ground glow from the kilns casts a pale, amber halo on the wet surfaces, against the cool blue tones of the night sky. Brick textures appear rough and saturated with moisture, while the cypress trees lining the path lean slightly under the weight of the steady rain. The scene maintains a stark, civic austerity, with no human presence visible, only the enduring geometry of the infrastructure meeting the relentless weather. Water droplets gather on the edge of a metal railing before sliding silently into the darkness below.
