Dawn light on worn stone stairs in Vancouver cliff

Pale dawn light spills across a worn stone staircase carved into a sheer cliff face near Vancouver. The steps, smoothed by centuries of use, show deep grooves and a cool gray texture. Early winter air leaves a crispness visible in the pale illumination that slips horizontally across the floor, casting long, soft shadows between the risers. Muted reflections shimmer faintly on the damp stone surface, mirroring the faint blue of the sky above. The stairs tilt sharply to the right, creating a diagonal rhythm that pulls attention upward toward the dark opening at the top. A thin line of frost rests on the shadowed edge of the lowest step, marking the chill of the season.
