Deep blue twilight saturates the sky above a steel ski chair lift stretching across a dark, choppy body of water near Vancouver's Gastown district. The metal cables and chairs hang in heavy shadow, defined only by sharp rim light from the fading sun that traces their edges against the stormy backdrop. Snow dusts the distant mountain peaks and rests on the rigging, signaling early winter's arrival. Wind visibly whips loose strands of material on the lift mechanism, bending them toward the water. Below, the ferry crossing appears as a dark ribbon of water reflecting the last hints of azure. The heavy steel towers anchor the structure firmly, standing resilient against the gathering night. One chair hangs suspended at the edge of the frame, its seat tilted slightly by the gusts.
