Frozen Waterfall Winter Morning Vancouver Shoreline in along a wave-cut shoreline near Chinatown, Vancouver

Frozen Waterfall Winter Morning Vancouver Shoreline

by Jeanette Velasquez

Deep blue ice forms a vertical curtain along the wave-cut shoreline near Vancouver's Chinatown district. Low morning sun pierces the horizon haze, casting a pale glow on the frozen cascade. Overhead, low-hanging clouds press against the grey sky, creating a muted backdrop. The water has solidified into jagged, wind-carved textures that contrast with the smooth, dark rocks below. Reflections in the wet foreground create a perfect mirrored composition, doubling the icy blue structures. Small patches of snow rest on the shoreline debris. The ice edges show sharp, crystalline fractures where the flow once moved. A thin layer of frost coats the lower rock face, catching the dim light.
