Amber signal heads glow intensely against the pre-dawn gray sky, mounted high on a steel gantry spanning the railway tracks. Below, the rails glisten wetly under a fine, wind-driven drizzle that blurs the distant horizon. The low sun strikes the haze on the horizon, casting a faint orange band beneath the heavy cloud cover. Wind whips through the scene, visible in the motion blur of falling rain and the slight sway of the metal framework. The perspective rises from ground level, showing the towering height of the infrastructure. Rust streaks run down the vertical supports, against the fresh, slick sheen of the wet rails and the steady, unblinking light of the signal lamps.
