Cotton Mill Bales Stacked High Winter Dawn

Mist rests on the air inside a vast industrial hall where towering bales of raw cotton reach the ceiling beams. The first light of dawn falls through high windows, casting a soft, diffused glow over the white fibers. Sorting tables line the floor, their surfaces damp and reflecting the pale morning sky. Heavy winter air hangs still, visible as a thin haze around the stacked materials. Concrete walls show streaks of gray and brown, at the base of the space in a functional, utilitarian reality. The stacked bales form geometric columns that guide toward the back of the room, where shadows deepen against the far wall. One bale rests precariously near the edge of a sorting table, its rough texture against the smooth, wet floor tiles.
