Chinook Wind Melting Snow in Tromso Evening

by Luca Bautista

Wet, dark patches of melting snow spread across the rocky foothill, against the remaining white powder. A low marine fog rests on the valley floor, softening the transition between the slope and the distant town glow on the horizon. The sky above remains perfectly clear, a deep indigo canvas typical of polar night's last blue light. Diagonal lines of melting water carve paths down the uneven terrain, guiding toward the faint orange illumination of buildings in the distance. The ground texture shifts from powdery dryness to slick, saturated earth where the warm wind has touched the surface. A thin stream of meltwater trickles over a flat grey stone at the bottom edge of the frame.
