Candle Factory Pouring Wax Molds Before Dusk
by Graham Ali
Copper-toned light floods the expansive factory floor near Banfora, illuminating rows of hundreds of candle molds arranged in precise, repetitive lines. Molten wax pours from elevated spouts into the cooling containers, sending thin wisps of vapor rising through the cool, damp air. The concrete floor shows signs of heavy labor with scattered wax drips and wet patches reflecting the low sun. Workers in simple, worn clothing move between the rows, their movements deliberate and rhythmic as they manage the flow. The heavy machinery hums silently in the background, its metal surfaces gleaming under the warm, directional glow. Steam rests on the air, catching the light and softening the sharp edges of the industrial equipment. The scene ends with a close-up of a wax pool solidifying in a mold, its surface rippling slightly as it cools.
