Pencil Factory Graphite Gluing at Dawn

Mist hangs low over the industrial yard beside a massive blast furnace near New York as dry season air settles. Inside the facility, cedar halves lie in perfect rows, their pale wood grain visible against the gray concrete floor. Workers apply adhesive to graphite cores before joining the wood, their movements precise and repetitive. Fine dust particles float in shafts of pale dawn light filtering through high windows, illuminating the suspended particles. The symmetrical arrangement of the workstations creates a rhythmic pattern across the floor. Steam rises from the furnace in the background, blending with the morning fog. one drop of glue rests on the edge of a cedar half, catching the diffused light.
