Wet stone walls of a roofless nave in Matera glow with the deep orange of the final sunset before nightfall. Thick tree roots split the ancient masonry, their bark glistening with recent rain. Humid air hangs heavy, visible as a soft haze between the crumbling columns. Above the open sky, a massive blue whale swims through the air, its smooth grey skin reflecting the fading light. The creature casts a distinct, elongated shadow that stretches across the damp floor, merging with the dark roots. Layers of stone arches recede into the distance, showing the scale of the impossible animal against the grounded, abandoned architecture. The shadow falls precisely over a puddle, rippling the water's surface.
