Blue Poison Dart Frog on Bromeliad in Rain

Steady rain falls across the waxy green surface of a bromeliad leaf near the reed bed edge in Bogura. A vivid blue poison dart frog sits motionless against the wet foliage, its skin reflecting the clear dry mountain light of late afternoon. Water droplets slide down the leaf's ridges and merge with the continuous rain falling around the amphibian. The background dissolves into soft, out-of-focus greens and browns of the boggy terrain. Tiny beads of moisture rest on the frog's toes as it rests near the leaf's central cup. The wet season atmosphere shows in the glistening sheen covering every surface. One raindrop hangs from the tip of a nearby reed, poised to fall.
