Cool blue twilight washes a wind-scoured ridge near Chennai, where dust hangs low above the dry earth. A vivid poison dart frog rests on a rough, weathered stone, its skin displaying electric bands of orange and black against the muted gray background. The creature remains perfectly still, its moist texture against the arid, dusty air. Low light flattens the surrounding scrub grass into dark silhouettes, leaving the frog as the only source of intense color. Fine particles of soil float in the cool air, settling on the stone's uneven surface. The frog's eye reflects a faint, cool highlight from the fading sky.
