Bioluminescent Plankton Footprints Dead Sea Night in under a band of cold starlight in the Dead Sea

Bioluminescent Plankton Footprints Dead Sea Night

by Brendan Wright

Cold starlight cuts through low-hanging clouds to illuminate a band of wet sand where footprints glow with soft blue bioluminescence. The water recedes just enough to leave a dark, glistening surface that catches the faint cosmic glow. Each depression in the sand outlines a human footprint, filled with swirling microscopic organisms that pulse against the black sand. The light is sparse and distant, casting the surrounding terrain into deep shadow while highlighting the delicate, electric blue trails. No horizon breaks the frame, only the immediate foreground where the footprints press into the saline mud under a heavy, clouded sky. The blue glow fades into the darkness at the edges of the frame.
