Arctic Fox Pouncing Headfirst Into Snow

Flat noon light washes the endless tundra under a ceiling of low, gray clouds. A white arctic fox launches forward, its body fully extended in a headfirst dive toward the ground. The animal appears as a dark silhouette against the bright, wet snow that glistens with the soft aftermath of rain. Patches of brown moss peek through the waterlogged earth where the fox has not yet landed. The fur along the fox's back ripples with motion, creating a stark contrast against the pale, expansive horizon. Water droplets rest on the tips of the short grasses, reflecting the diffuse sky. The final moment shows the fox's nose just inches from the surface, displacing a small spray of wet granules.
