Aerial Tea Terraces Sri Lanka Noon Light

by Lindsey Hunter

Flat noon light washes over a grid of tea terraces in Sri Lanka, their green rows stretching toward dry wadis and shifting dune fields below. The sky is a pale, washed-out white where a light drizzle has just begun, softening the contrast between the cultivated earth and the arid landscape. Visible scale markers, including small white posts and measurement lines, sit at regular intervals along the terraced edges, offering a clear sense of distance and geometric order. The wet surfaces of the leaves reflect the harsh overhead sun, creating sharp highlights against the darker soil. One row of terraced steps curves gently near the bottom right corner, anchoring the composition with a precise, cartographic edge.
