Winter Abandoned Tunnel Station Yukon in inside a roofless nave in Yukon

Winter Abandoned Tunnel Station Yukon

by Cheyenne Raymond

Steel-blue evening light falls through the open roof of a decaying tunnel station in the Yukon wilderness. Ankle-deep water pools across the cracked concrete floor, reflecting the dim sky above. Peeling posters rest on the rough stone walls, their faded colors muted by the cold air. Snow dusts the upper ledges where nature is slowly reclaiming the structure. The space recedes into shadowy layers of depth, revealing rusted metal beams and broken tiles scattered among the ice. Frost lines the edges of the water, marking the dead of winter. One shard of broken glass rests near the water's edge, catching the last faint light.
