Sunrise Waterfall Over Mossy Terraces Near Innsbruck
by Tara Miranda
First rays of early spring sunlight strike the upper edges of a tiered waterfall, turning the falling water into streaks of pale gold against dark, wet stone. Moss carpets the stepped terraces in varying shades of emerald and olive, thick with moisture from the cascade. The water splits into multiple channels as it descends, creating white foam where it crashes into the pools below. Across the wide valley floor, layers of pine forest recede into the distance, their green tones deepening under the heavy, dramatic clouds that dominate the sky. Wind-sculpted branches on the nearest slope lean slightly, hinting at the persistent breeze that shapes this high-altitude solitude. at the edge is the sharp contrast between the bright, misty spray rising from the lowest tier and the shadowed, textured rock face behind it.
