Water Buffalo in Yunnan Rice Paddy Sky Reflection

Soft overcast light washes the freshly irrigated rice paddies of Yunnan, turning the water into a perfect mirror for the gray sky above. A large water buffalo stands knee-deep in the shallow rows, its dark, wet hide glistening with moisture. The animal's massive horns curve gently against the horizon line, while ripples spread outward from its submerged legs. Dry, golden grass borders the water's edge, signaling the dry season's grip on the landscape. The creature remains still, embodying the quiet patience of seasonal labor. A small patch of white foam rests on the side of its flank where the water breaks against its fur.
