Veneer Sheets Peeling from Lathe at Tabriz Rail Yard

Soft overcast light from a late spring morning washes the industrial yard near Tabriz, revealing a massive lathe in operation. Thin, pale veneer sheets curl away from the spinning log, peeling off in continuous, ribbon-like strips that hang suspended in the air before falling toward the ground. The machinery, painted in faded industrial blues and greys, dominates the foreground against a backdrop of rusted rail tracks and stacked timber. Dust motes are visible in the diffused light, hovering around the rotating wood. The wide panoramic view shows the scale of the processing equipment alongside the heavy steel rails running parallel to the factory floor. A fresh layer of wood shavings accumulates at the base of the lathe, against the grey gravel of the yard.
