Winter Drizzle Backlit Plywood Factory Silhouette

Rain streaks the glass of the panoramic window, blurring the industrial machinery inside a wide factory hall near Okayama. Inside, a massive lathe spins in silhouette, peeling thin sheets of veneer that hang like pale ribbons against the dimming light. The winter sky outside casts a flat, gray glow, turning the workers and equipment into dark, solid shapes. Steam rises from the hot wood, mixing with the damp air visible through the drizzle. The floor reflects the faint light, showing wet patches where water has seeped in. A stack of finished plywood sheets stands rigid in the foreground, their edges sharp against the soft, diffused light of the setting sun.
